We present the eight principles of the HONcode, prepared by the Health On the Net Foundation (HON), a non-profit NGO based in Geneva, Switzerland, established in 1995 during the conference "The Use of the Internet and World-Wide Web for Telematics in Healthcare". The Health On the Net Foundation, accrediting medical and healthcare sites around the world, is in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations; it is supported by Geneva local authorities and closely co-operates with the Geneva University Hospital and the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics. 
Principle 1 
Any medical or health advice provided and hosted on this site will only be given by medically trained and qualified professionals unless a clear statement is made that a piece of advice offered is from a non-medically qualified individual or organisation. 
Principle 2 
The main purpose of our websites is to provide information, on how a laparotomy could be mostly excluded in laparoscopic surgery for benign diseases with the technique of Lift-Laparoscopy. 
The information provided on this site is designed to support, not replace, the relationship that exists between a patient / site visitor and his / her existing physician. 
Principle 3 
Confidentiality of data relating to individual patients and visitors to a medical / health Web site, including their identity, is respected by this Web site. The Web site owners undertake to honour or exceed the legal requirements of medical / health information privacy that apply in the country and state where the Web site and mirror sites are located. Following information sent to EndoGyn by our visitors like email addresses and / or contact information, names, personal and / or medical data will be deleted after the contact, except the case, where the a patient seeks any intervention in one of our Endoscopic Gynecology Center. 
Principle 4 
Where appropriate, information contained on this site will be supported by clear references to source data and, where possible, have specific HTML links to that data. The data and medical information on this site is a the intellectual property of EndoGyn Ltd. or it’s physicians, scientists and representatives. The date when a clinical page was last modified will be clearly displayed (e.g. at the bottom of the Homepage of all EndoGyn Websites and special indication websites.). 
Principle 5 
Any claims relating to the benefits / performance of a specific treatment, commercial product or service will be supported by appropriate, balanced evidence in the manner outlined above in Principle 4. 
Principle 6 
The designers of this Web site will seek to provide information in the clearest possible manner and provide contact addresses for visitors that seek further information or support. The Webmaster will display his / her E-mail address clearly throughout the Web site. 
Principle 7 
Support for this Web site will be clearly identified, including the identities of commercial and non-commercial organisations that have contributed funding, services or material for the site. 
Principle 8 
EndoGyn’s Websites are not opened for commercial advertisement. The only source of funding is EndoGyn Ltd. as owner of the websites.
